Trust Wallet

Multi-chain, non-custodial crypto wallet for mobile and browser: you hold your own keys, with built-in swaps, staking, NFTs and DeFi access across 100+ networks.

What Trust Wallet Is

Trust Wallet is a multi-chain, non-custodial cryptocurrency wallet. Non-custodial means the app does not hold your funds for you: private keys and seed phrases are stored locally on your own device, and you are the one responsible for protecting them. It lets you manage assets across more than a hundred blockchain networks, including Ethereum, Bitcoin, Solana, Polygon, Avalanche, Tron and Cosmos.

Where It Came From

Trust Wallet was established in 2017 by Ukrainian developer Viktor Radchenko. In July 2018 it was acquired by Binance, which described it as the exchange's first-ever acquisition. It has since operated as a wallet brand separate from the Binance exchange itself.

Platforms and Features

The wallet is available as iOS and Android apps and as a browser extension for Chrome, Brave and Edge. Beyond storing and sending crypto, it supports access to decentralized finance apps, storing and transferring NFTs, staking for rewards, swapping tokens through DEX aggregators and buying crypto with a card through a third-party provider. The wallet is built on Wallet Core, an open-source library released under the MIT license that handles key generation and transaction signing.

The Native Token

Trust Wallet also has a token, TWT, which is listed on CoinGecko. You do not need it to use the wallet.

What to Weigh Before Using It

With a self-custody wallet there is no support desk that can recover a lost seed phrase, and anyone who gets it controls your funds. Security incidents have happened even at large wallet projects: in December 2025 a compromised version of the Trust Wallet browser extension was reported to have sent seed phrases to an outside server, with about seven million dollars in losses confirmed before it was patched. Install only from official stores, keep software updated, and never type your seed phrase into a website or share it. Start small, read the project's current documentation for the exact product you plan to use, and only commit money you can afford to lose. This summary is educational and not financial advice.
